Considerable knowledge of child development, early care and
education field, and organized approaches to preparing for a career
in child care and education. Experience working and/or collaborating
with regulated child care offering pre-school services preferred.
The ability to manage a variety of functions including planning
initiatives to impact child care professional development, child
care programming and administration, and to assist child care
providers taking on-line classes. Skills to provide on-site
technical support to childcare centers and family care homes to
insure quality child care for all children birth to age five in
Stanly County. The ability to engage various sectors or subsystems
in early care and education to successfully implement a more
comprehensive Smart Start technical assistance and professional
development program in Stanly County.
QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor degree from an accredited college
or university in early childhood education, child development, or in
related education or human services area with one year of related
experience preferred. Applicants holding an associate degree in
early childhood education, child development or related education or
human services and at least three (3) years of related experience
will be considered. For associate degreed applicants, preference
will be given for currently being enrolled in a bachelor degree
program in the early care and education field or plans to enroll in
the near future. The ability to work flexible hours (usual work
hours 8:30-5:00, M-F) including evenings and/or weekends to
accommodate program activity needs. The ability to use computer
systems and Internet required. Must have valid NC driver’s license
and reliable, insured transportation for business related travel.
Position is located in Albemarle, NC. Salary negotiable depending
